Diocesan Pastoral Council

This is the principal structure in which the Clergy, Religious and lay representatives from the parishes, under the chairmanship of the Bishop meet once in two months to discuss and evaluate pastoral work in the diocese. This DPC is divided into sub-committees, through them work is carried out:v.g. The Cultural Committee, education Committee etc. The work in the parishes is  coordinated through the Diocesan Pastoral Council. On official matters, the voice of the Pastoral Council becomes the voice of the diocese.

Parish/Church Councils

Under a Diocesan Constitution, Parish/Church Councils are established every 3 years, to help the priests to build a truly participatory community, and to carry out their work, both temporal and spiritual. more efficiently. The priest remains always the President of these  Councils. These too work with the help of  various sub –committees e.g. Catechetical, Liturgy, Temporalities, Finance etc. The membership of the Parish Council is to consist of representatives of all categories of the faithful: men, women, youth, teachers, catechists professionals, labourers etc. The Parish Council’s principal task is to promote the mission of the Church in the Parish and by the Church to those outside the fold.
